Whatever people may say, believe me, you can get a real response from Classified Advertising. Not only does placing a classified ad get your site's URL out there in places where people are searching and also posting ads, but also online classified advertising can help increase traffic to your existing web site increasing the links to your site. This improves the relevancy rating of your web site with search engines.
There are two ways of going about placing classifieds:
 Place your classifieds on websites that offer the facility and have a high traffic rate. This is the best strategy because people do go there for the purpose of placing and reading ads, and some of these sites have large networks of classifieds. Your link will expire after a certain period of time, so you need to keep at it, but it works.

Placing ads in this way is the most effective method by far. However, there is another system, which some people like to use.
The second way is to sign up for one or two of the classified advertising downline sites. These are free but REMEMBER you will have to advertise your page fairly intensively at least at the start, to be effective.
The site displays usually about 6 classifieds. When you sign up yours is at the top, when
someone signs up under you, yours drops to no2 and so on. As the people below you advertise
and get more coming on below them, the number of sites displaying your classified increases.
You gradually build your own network of advertising and in time your ad could be seen by hundreds.
One of the problems with this is that when people get to these sites, their main interest is in
displaying their own ads, so the likelihood of them reading the others on the page is not all that
high. Some of these sites get round this by requiring anyone who intends to take up a
site to visit each of the advertised pages and collect a code number from each page before they
finalise their application.
